Hello world!

When running a digital agency, we audit hundreds of websites. Most business owners believe that their website looks fine, but they don’t understand why visitors leave without submitting a quote. The truth is, small design errors kill sales conversions instantly.

Here are the five most common web design mistakes we see and how to resolve them to turn passive visitors into buyers.

1. Hidden or Weak Call-to-Actions (CTAs)

If a visitor has to search your page to find out how to contact you, they will leave. Your primary call-to-action button (e.g. “Get a Quote”, “Start Project”) must be positioned clearly in the top header and above the hero fold. Use a contrasting color palette to make it stand out visually.

“Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works to capture real business metrics.”

2. Slow Load Speeds (PageSpeed Killers)

According to Google data, page bounce rates increase by over 32% if a page takes more than 3 seconds to load. Heavy image sizes, uncompressed video backgrounds, and generic marketplace theme codes bloat your site. Always compress images to WebP formats and keep script counts low.

3. Poor Mobile Navigation Adaptability

Over 55% of all web traffic originates from mobile devices. If your header navigation drawer is sticky, breaks on mobile, or overlaps contact inputs, you are losing half of your audience. Test your pages down to 320px screen sizes.

4. Text Overloading & Zero Spacing

Large walls of generic text overwhelm eyes. Break content sections into cards, use concise bullet points, and maintain generous white padding margins to make the user experience readable.

5. Missing Social Proof & Trust Factors

Before a client spends money with your agency, they need trust. Position real testimonials, portfolio ratings, and logos of clients you have worked with directly under your hero sections to establish authority.
